The Task
Set into small groups, we were tasked with producing a short scene featuring three people in conversation. The aim was to test our skills in how we would effectively achieve a professional looking scene, using existing media as inspiration.
My Team
Including myself I was set to work with Barney Cremin, David Wilkinson, Cindy Cheng and Maeve Malenczyk and we instantly set ourself the task of deciding on what our conversation would be about. I came up with a safety idea of having a Marvel comic fan in a debate with a DC comic fan and a third party trying to keep the peace. However, Cindy jokingly suggested we did a three-way-conversation of three people discussing having a threesome. However, we all really liked the idea and decided to proceed.
Setting Up Production
Cindy volunteered to write the script, and as a team we decided to also make her the director. Meave had a keen interest in being our camera woman, David was put on sound and Barney took lighting. I volunteered to be the set manager and essentially make sure production went according to plan. I found us a location we could use and organised the entire crew and cast to get to the location.
The Finished Video
With this being our first time using the lighting gear, we were praised for having a large amount of glass in the background and for not casting any reflections. We did get criticised for how our intended static shot at the end did come off slightly jerky.
